Andrew Bucci (1922 - 2014) was one of Mississippi's most celebrated visual artists. Over the course of a prolific career that spanned nearly eight decades, he established an enduring creative legacy and a timelessly engaging style that continues to resonate with contemporary audiences. Known primarily as an abstract artist, he was fluent in a range of styles and drew inspiration from a variety of sources — Greek mythology, nature, the human face and form, and landscapes reflecting his travels as well as his roots in the Deep South. For the past three years, Abston has been working with the estate on exhibitions and programming to further the legacy of his life and artistic career.
